EDNC6 and EDNC8 Sinker EDMs

Makino introduces its EDNC6 and EDNC8 sinker EDMs that combine rigid and precise construction, simple touch-screen programming and advanced performance features for accurate and fast cutting of large workpieces. Makino says its proprietary technologies included on the EDNC6 and EDNC8 ensure the ideal mix of speed, surface finish and reduced electrode wear.

Hybrid Hole Drilling Machine

Synova and Makino are joining forces to offer the HybridCell, which combines the power of Synova’s Laser MicroJet (LMJ) with Makino’s leading edge EDM capabilities. It is a fully automated, manufacturing-ready, work cell that can handle a wide range of hole-drilling applications. The HybridCell consist of a MCS 500 cutting system, along with Makino’s EDBV EDM hole-drilling machine. The system is available through Makino’s extensive North American Single Source Technologies sales channel.

Ultrafine-grain graphite

Mersen USA offers ultrafine-grain graphite for sinker EDMing. The top-performing DS4, featuring the DarkStar ultrafine-carbon particle, helps users confidently handle challenging EDM operations while saving money, according to the company. The easy-to-machine and strong DS4 imparts a fine surface finish and intricate detail.

MicroEDM milling

As the Northeast U.S. representative for SARIX microEDM equipment, Leer Technologies Inc., Claverack, N.Y., spent the better part of EASTEC 2008 showing off the newest features of the SARIX-200 3D MicroEDM Milling machine.
