Rollomatic Inc. announces the addition of a new tool grinding machine model GrindSmart 528XF, particularly suited for long drills as well as other rotary cutting tools.

Rollomatic continues the success and growth of its GrindSmart series of multi-axis tool grinding machines by introducing a new 6-axis CNC grinder with features particularly suited for long-drills up to 12mm (.470") in diameter. This machine is furnished with a traveling workhead that allows drills with a flute length between 10" and 12" to be efficiently produced.

This machine has two distinctive new features:

• New, patented and proprietary drill steady rest that can compensate for back taper as well as a combination of back taper and cylindrical drill relief. This steady rest is dedicated for drills.

• New, patented and proprietary shank guidance system designed for quick setup.

Among other options is a camera to locate coolant holes down to 0.05mm in diameter. The machine comes standard with a 20-hp synchronous spindle giving precisely constant spindle speeds, enlarged coolant supply and a 6-station wheel/nozzle changer.

In addition, its versatility permits other solid carbide drills, high-performance endmills and many other types of rotary cutting tools to be manufactured. The machine runs on Rollomatic's software platform VirtualGrindPro.
