Harvey Tool Co. LLC has released its fall 2011 catalog, which provides information about 400 new tools. That includes additional sizes and reaches in expanded product lines and brand new tools. The company reports that one new tool is a miniature multiple-flute, high-helix endmill for finishing aluminum alloys, copper, brass, bronze and other nonferrous materials.

Available as small as 0.015", the finisher has a variable helix and variable index to overcome harmonics and reduce chatter. In addition, the tool imparts a fine surface finish and effectively evacuates chips, according to the company. The tool's TiB2 coating has a low affinity to aluminum, helping to prevent built-up edge and chip packing and extending tool life. The endmill is also available uncoated.
