Brian Norris, president of The Americas for Dormer Pramet, spent a few minutes during IMTS 2018 to guide Cutting Tool Engineering Publisher Dennis Spaeth through a number of product highlights from Precision Twist Drill, Union Butterfield, Dormer and Pramet.

Among the highlights:

  • Dormer's Shark Line taps color-coded for different material applications, including the Yellow Shark for structural, plain carbon and low alloy steels, the Red Shark for alloy steels, the White Shark for cast irons, and the Blue Shark for stainless steels.
  • Union Butterfield's FlashTap Service offers a selection of semi-special tap products as an option for companies that require non-standard thread forms and need them within 48 hours.
  • Pramet's new all-in-one indexable cutter, the Force AD. The milling inserts, which fit both end mill and face mill cutter bodies, are ideal for applications requiring high metal removal rates.
  • Precision Twist Drill's aerospace skin drills, which are manufactured to National Aerospace Standards.
  • A disc milling cutter, which is used to maintain the correct form of railroad rails, features a series of tangentially clamped indexable cutting inserts.
