On Jan. 1, 2014, GF AgieCharmilles, Geneva, Switzerland, will become GF Machining Solutions, underscoring the fact that parent company Georg Fischer AG (GF) is a unified company with three divisions. Along with the name change, a new design style on the GF Machining Solutions Web site and sales literature will be gradually implemented, according to the company. GF AgieCharmille's U.S. operation is based in Lincolnshire, Ill.
The terms of existing agreements with customers and the names of the division's legal entities remain unchanged. The division will continue to use the brand names AgieCharmilles, Mikron, Step-Tec and System 3R on the respective products, though a new product naming system is in development and will be introduced in the first half of 2014.
To simplify the transition for customers, the change of e-mail addresses will be transparent, and current GF AgieCharmilles e-mail addresses will be active until December 2014. The existing Web site will automatically redirect to a new URL, ensuring that the Web site remains accessible. Telephone numbers remain unchanged.
