Kyocera Precision Tools Inc. has released a milling line for high-speed aluminum applications. The MEAS series is engineered with unique grooved insert pockets for added stability when machining at high speeds.

The new HAIMER Face Shield that helps to minimize the spread of illnesses while being extremely comfortable to wear. The adjustable visor is made of high quality plastic which allows for repeatable use. Because of this, the product is sustainable and environmentally friendly through easily replaceable visors and head cushions. It also fulfills PSA Regulation (EU) 2016/425 category II, respectively requirements of eye protection according to EN 166:2001, ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2020, CSA Z94.3:20 to protect against droplets and splashes (partly applied). n

PCD- and CBN-tipped engraving tools are offered in standard or customized dimensions; as semi-finished or finished (incl. side-cut); with highest reachable surface qualities.

This expansion includes two new TCL18 inserts with 1.75 mm and 2.5 mm thicknesses, expanding the existing line of 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm, and 3.0 mm inserts. The inserts are available in grade AH7025, a nano-multilayer PVD coating with high-aluminum content that provides hardness and adhesion to the grade for better process security during grooving operations.

Tangentially mounted grooving insert with a robust seating surface also ensures maximum stability. The insert and pocket design features an axial key stop for added stability against the side cutting (axial) forces. Precision cooling on the flank surface is offered as a standard feature for longer tool life. The chip breaker for the inserts is developed for heavy-duty machining to ensure short chips when cutting at maximum depth and when widening the grooves. n

The canopy hood is molded one piece seamless of advanced composite resins that have superior chemical and corrosion resistance, are flame retardant and lightweight for a NO RUST guarantee. The corner canopy can either be wall mounted or suspended from the ceiling and can be equipped with optional side wall panels to prevent cross drafts from affecting the containment of fumes. Standard wall and island canopy hoods are also available both in composite resin and stainless steel.

The SimpliVac Vacuum optimizes sample impregnation in a faster more automated way and also allows lab technicians to set multiple cycles to complete the mounting process faster. SimpliVac can also accommodate larger samples due to its oversized chamber and sample tray insert, which creates a large flat surface for larger mounts. The integrated turntable allows for bi-directional movement of the samples when aligning, and seeing within the large chamber is easy as it has a large clear lid, thus allowing for simple alignment of samples when pouring. It also has locking controls that prevent inconsistent samples due to user error.

In the SICK AppSpace eco-system, programmable sensors and edge devices can be configured for new tasks using SensorApps. Many apps are already available for download via the SICK AppPool. For specific applications, SensorApps can also be used independently by the customer and developed together with SICK experts and the support of a developer community. Until now, basic programming skills were required to generate your own SensorApps in SICK AppStudio. That is no longer the case with the new AppPool.n
