Hypertherm is expanding its support for technical education by offering free licenses of its ProNest CAD/CAM software to North American schools, trade unions and other training facilities. The effort is part of an expansive commitment to the next generation of fabricating professionals.

Johnford DMC series double-column, moving-table bridge mills from Absolute Machine Tools Inc. are created from a one-piece Meehanite cast iron bridge/column assembly that takes up 30 percent less floor space than comparable C-frame vertical machining centers. Available in both moving-table and sliding-column (fixed-table) versions, ranging from 36- x 36- x 30-inches of travel up to 60-ft. x 20-ft., these bridge mills have a long base casting with complete support of the table over the full 51 inches in length of Y-axis travel, allowing massive loads to be machined.

Dosatron International Inc. announces a new mobile coolant fill system. It includes a durable, roto-molded 15- or 25-gal. coolant concentrate tank, an onboard Dosatron proportioner, a simple garden hose water connection swivel, "no flat" tires and an EZ fill, gas nozzle-style valve, with fill hose.

The LNS Express 220 S2 automatic, magazine bar feeder faultlessly loads 12' long bars with diameters from 2 mm to 20 mm and, with bar preparation, up to 26 mm to accommodate 20 mm machines with 26 mm bar capacity. The enhanced bar feeder uses a simple loading assistance design for small diameter bars with a proprietary, automatic loading mechanism and bar selection system to precisely and consistently load small bars, especially in the 2 mm to 4 mm diameter range, without failure, according to the company.

The new LNS SFcompact chip conveyor (available September 2016) filters coolant to 50 microns and handles virtually all chip types and sizes, from stringy stainless steel to fine brass and aluminum. Unlike other chip conveyors capable of 50-micron filtration, the filtering system is integrated within the rigid frame, so SFcompact requires no more floor space than a typical hinge-belt conveyor and, in most cases, can use the existing coolant tank, according to the company.
