GEORG's new portal-type milling machine – GEORG ultramill – is for high-precision aluminum plates. With an accuracy of surface parallelism of +/-0.05 mm achieved by this machine, GEORG is setting a new standard. At the same time, production throughput increases significantly as GEORG has doubled the machining speed and implemented a high degree of automation compared to machines generally in use so far.

Vapormatt Ltd. is launching a fully integrated modular wet blasting machine for edge honing and surface preparation of all types of round shank and solid cutting tools. The new Oncilla wet blast machine incorporates blast chamber, washing, drying, elutriation tower, control and robot handling units in a single compact, high-performance system.

Harvey Performance Co. announces the release of Machining Advisor Pro (MAP), a tool designed to quickly, seamlessly and accurately deliver recommended running parameters to machinists using Helical Solutions endmills. This web-based tool works within the capability of a machinists' machine, tool and setup to offer tailored, specific speeds and feed parameters.

OPEN MIND Technologies AG has introduced hyperMILL 2018.2, the latest version of its advanced, comprehensive CAM software. hyperMILL 2018.2 offers a range of enhancements and new features for 3D Shape Z-level Finishing and 3D Optimized Roughing and greater CAD functionality.

The new SH-4000P horizontal machining center from Tongtai was developed for mass production lines. The new compact machine has a 35 percent smaller footprint than the previous model, allowing for maximum shop floor space utilization. At only 69" wide, floor space is minimized.

Up to now, the company has mainly focused on a milling program with ground, tangential ISO indexable inserts. These are used in particular for special applications, very large stock removal, unstable conditions or disc milling cutters.
