High Dynamic Turning, or HDT for short, from Ceratizit has turned conventional turning methods completely upside down. This new turning technology combined with the dynamic FreeTurn tooling, means that in the future it will be possible to carry out all traditional turning operations such as roughing, finishing, contour turning, face turning and longitudinal turning with just one tool. HDT is therefore an uncompromising method of turning.

Walter has introduced new PCBN grades for improved turning of hardened steel up to 65 HRC. These grades (WBH10C, WBH10 and WBH20) provide users with an array of benefits. High-quality surface finish due to unique new wiper geometry (MW2) and long tool life with the new TiAlSiN-coated grade (WBH10C) are just some of these benefits.

Carmex Precision Tools Ltd. has introduced new diamond turning inserts designed to enable customers to achieve higher productivity and greater efficiency in machining hard materials faster and more effectively than grinding or ceramics. Walter has added indexable inserts to the range of products available via the Walter Xpress fast delivery service. Previously the special custom solutions available with Walter Xpress had been limited to round tools and tools that hold indexable inserts.

Kyocera Precision Tools introduces new economical double-sided, multiple-edge PCBN inserts with HH chipbreaker for machining hardened material with excellent chip control. These PCBN inserts are design for optimized small DOC finishing for workpieces that are 55 HRC or harder.

Tungaloy is expanding its MiniForce-Turn, an economical turning tool series, to include the -JS style chipbreaker insert promising efficient chip control and machining stability.
