Simonds Saw has introduced a bandsaw blade designed to provide low vibration and high efficiency cutting of steel grating applications. The new BITEC PLUS blade, manufactured by Simonds' partner WESPA in Germany, features a wide band in a variety of widths from 1.25" to 2.0", which provides maximum beam strength for higher blade tension and cutting rates, making it less susceptible to damage.

Riten Industries is the OEM provider of dead and live centers for Mazak CNC lathes. Many are delivered with Riten centers already installed.

Tannewitz introduces the model 36MH70 horizontal automated traveling-head honeycomb bandsaw. The saw is capable of cutting all types of honeycomb material 60" wide up to 33" thick with a saw head travel of 140".

NTK's new 3D molded chipbreakers are enhanced to achieve optimal chip control on the company's Swiss tooling. They include: CTP–CX for cutoff operations, GTMH-GX for grooving or side turning, and TBP/TBPA-BM for "single-pass, back-turning" operations.

Dake Corp. introduces their line of NC feed systems, giving shops everywhere the ability to increase productivity, decrease setup time, reduce operator error and reduce waste. Using the Dake feed systems, any semiautomatic ironworker, cold saw, drill press or punching machine can easily be turned into a fully automatic production tool, according to the company. A free-standing control panel with an easy-to-read LCD digital display and infinitely variable programming gives operators endless opportunities to enhance their metalworking capabilities.

Designed for high-precision milling of the same part, Kent USA CNC knee mills are reportedly built to last on heavy-duty, solid foundations. The knee mills come standard with Acu-Rite MillPwr G2. This CNC can be used as a full function DRO, an intelligent power feed or a programmable CNC. This versatile system allows the operator to switch from full automatic mode to manual mode in just seconds.

DoALL has added two larger capacity dual-column, semiautomatic bandsaws to its Continental series product line. The DoALL DC-1100SA offers semiautomatic capacities on rectangles at 43.3″x43.3″ (1,100mm x 1,100mm) and the DC-1700SA (pictured) boasts a rectangle capacity of 67″x51.2″ (1,700mm x 1,300mm).

Tungaloy has introduced DuoJustCut, the parting-off tool for Swiss-type lathes. The innovative clamping system designed for DuoJustCut provides highly rigid insert clamping, and a toolholder is applicable for three types of inserts according to parting-off diameters.

Kitamura's Mycenter-HX250G HMC offers up a small footprint with ultrahigh level accuracies. This unique powerhouse has a standard two-station APC with full 4-axis capabilities for drilling, milling, boring, tapping, threading and much more. A standard high-speed 15,000-rpm, dual-contact spindle is ideal for tougher cuts with a 30,000-rpm option for more highly intricate part processing.

Haas Automation recently expanded its drill, tap and mill product line with a pair of high-speed, lean-style machining centers—the DT-2 and DM-2—that reportedly provide the same high acceleration rates, fast axis speeds and short tool change times as their smaller brethren. Yet, the new machines offer an additional 8" (203mm) of X-axis travel and table length, with only a slight increase in footprint.

Simonds Saw, Fitchburg, Mass., recently reintroduced two bi-metal band saw blade lines that combine new features with advanced manufacturing methods that reportedly increase cutting rates in production metal sawing applications by up to 20 percent, according to a Feb. 5 company news release.
