OSG USA Inc., St. Charles, Illinois, releases the PHOENIX PFDC indexable facemill cutter and inserts, designed for non-ferrous materials. This exchangeable facemill cutter is perfect for small machining centers.

Tungaloy Corp. recently expanded its TungSpeed-Mill series with new small-diameter, close-pitch cutters designed for precision machining applications. The expanded lineup includes bore-type cutters in three sizes: ø40 mm (z=8), ø50 mm (z=10) and ø63 mm (z=14). The new cutters feature a steel body construction that balances weight reduction with structural integrity.

Walter expanded the TC630 Supreme product range to include UNJC4 to UNJC9/16, UNJF4 to UNJF9/16 and MJ3 to MJ10 thread sizes. Optional internal coolant is available for thread sizes starting from MJ4, UNJF8 and UNJC8 to provide effective chip removal on deep threads.

The addition to the "TPW / EPW Type" series includes CBN inserts designed for high-speed cast iron finishing. In addition to the economical 2-corner standard insert, a wiper insert option is also available to achieve excellent surface finish. The insert grade is High-content CBN "BX480," which consists of densely bonded medium-grain CBN.

The M5250 cutter is effective for milling steel, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals (ISO P, K, M and N workpiece groups), as well as materials with difficult cutting properties. Unlike other full-effective helical milling cutters, the XTRA∙TEC® XT M5250 can also be used for full slotting, shoulder milling, pocket milling and ramping.

The TC685 Supreme cutter is a left-hand cutting tool that features a 15° helix angle for excellent chip removal. Cooling with compressed air makes it possible to achieve maximum tool life in materials harder than 50 HRC. Additionally, internal coolant delivery is available for tools that create the M6 size through the larger thread sizes.

The larger diameter cutter and new lengths both boost the Fullcut Mill FCM BBT line's already-considerable versatility, allowing machinists to tailor their tool selections for many different applications. The BIG-PLUS BBT shank products are compatible with both BIG-PLUS and existing BT spindle machines. This allows for seamless integration, no matter the machining setup.

The advanced design combines a strong insert structure, a durable cutter body, secure mounting, and advanced carbide grades.

The XNMU inserts are the original concept of double-sided inserts with 4 right-hand and 4 left-hand helical cutting edges for slot milling cutters. These inserts are made of SUMOTEC carbide grades, designed for milling alloy steel, ferritic and martensitic stainless steel, and cast-iron.

When mounted in a NEOFEED tool, the insert enables a positive tool rake angle which assures smooth cutting and reduced cutting forces and power consumption. The insert pocket has a dovetail shape that provides rigid and reliable insert clamping and improves the a cutter's capability to withstand heavy load.

The milling heads have been designed for shoulder roughing, semi-finishing and finishing applications with ramping down capability. The milling heads are available in .312-1.00" diameter range.

The cutters consist of interchangeable solid carbide T-SLOT milling heads and cylindrical shanks assembled by means of a unique spline connection.The spline connection is used to transmit the torque in the best way, ensuring very durable assembly to withstand considerable cutting forces during slot milling and bending forces caused by long reach overhang.The spline connection designation is SP… where the no. indicates the connection size.The general duty cutting geometry of the heads is suited for efficient slot milling on a wide spectrum of workpiece materials for maximum depth of cut.
