Oelheld U.S. Inc expands on its AquaTec line of water miscible coolants with the introduction of AquaTec OH 3557.
AquaTec OH 3557 is a water-soluble semisynthetic metalworking fluid designed to give users excellent machining, reduced foaming, and full corrosion protection in a range of manufacturing applications. Because of its exceptional lubricity it can be used in light, medium, and severe applications including broaching and reaming. Its highly stable formulation reportedly makes AquaTec OH 3557 a great choice for operations and maintenance managers worldwide.
AquaTec OH 3557 was designed with the medical parts industry in mind where tough materials, such as cobalt chromium alloys, titanium alloys, and stainless steel provide manufacturing challenges. AquaTec OH 3557 surpassed all these requirements and is currently used in a multitude of applications.
Related Glossary Terms
- alloys
alloys
Substances having metallic properties and being composed of two or more chemical elements of which at least one is a metal.
- broaching
broaching
Operation in which a cutter progressively enlarges a slot or hole or shapes a workpiece exterior. Low teeth start the cut, intermediate teeth remove the majority of the material and high teeth finish the task. Broaching can be a one-step operation, as opposed to milling and slotting, which require repeated passes. Typically, however, broaching also involves multiple passes.
- lubricity
lubricity
Measure of the relative efficiency with which a cutting fluid or lubricant reduces friction between surfaces.
- metalworking
metalworking
Any manufacturing process in which metal is processed or machined such that the workpiece is given a new shape. Broadly defined, the term includes processes such as design and layout, heat-treating, material handling and inspection.
