Schreiner ProTech North America Inc. recently announced that its Color Laser Film for generating self-adhesive labels, signs and plates on Nd:YAG laser systems features emission-free engraving, high durability and reliable counterfeit protection.
The laser engraving process is performed inside the material composite under a transparent protective laminate. The chemical transformation of the laser-active layer releases neither solid particles nor gases. Minor emissions occur only during the label outline cutting process, which means a major reduction in cleaning and maintenance requirements for laser systems.
The specially developed transparent laminate provides a highly durable surface that is resistant against mechanical, chemical and climatic influences. The engraving process does not damage the laminate film because the laser energy is not absorbed, thus ensuring permanent, effective protection and significantly extended film life.
Holograms and color shift effects enable fast and easy distinction between the original and a counterfeit.
