intRlox Mini Nut

April 27, 2016

The REGO-FIX intRlox Mini Nut for Swiss automatic machine tool applications has an anti-slip locking design that is engineered to prevent the locking wrench from slipping off the nut during assembly and disassembly.

Milled slots on the OD of the nut mate with corresponding features of the wrench to prevent slippage during the tightening and loosening processes. Benefits include improved operator safety and prevention of damage to other tools. The intRlox design includes a special surface treatment to enhance clamping forces and extend the life of the nut by protecting against corrosion.

The intRlox can replace any brand of older-style mini-nuts. It is currently available in ER 8, 11, 16, 20 and ER 25 sizes in standard versions and ER 16, 20 and 25 for coolant versions.

Related Glossary Terms

  • coolant

    coolant

Fluid that reduces temperature buildup at the tool/workpiece interface during machining. Normally takes the form of a liquid such as soluble or chemical mixtures (semisynthetic, synthetic) but can be pressurized air or other gas. Because of water’s ability to absorb great quantities of heat, it is widely used as a coolant and vehicle for various cutting compounds, with the water-to-compound ratio varying with the machining task. See cutting fluid; semisynthetic cutting fluid; soluble-oil cutting fluid; synthetic cutting fluid.

  • outer diameter ( OD)

    outer diameter ( OD)

Dimension that defines the exterior diameter of a cylindrical or round part. See ID, inner diameter.
