Low Pro and Low Boy Dust Collector Hoppers

March 13, 2013

Camfil APC has introduced two new dust collector hoppers for use where space constraints dictate the use of a low-profile dust collection system. Designed to fit Farr Gold Series cartridge dust collectors, the Low Pro hopper is best suited to collection of dust and fumes from cutting, blasting, welding and thermal spray operations; while the Low Boy hopper is for use with heavier dust-loading applications involving a variety of dry dusts. Depending on the model chosen, the low-profile hoppers can reduce overall collector height by as much as 36" (91.4 cm).

The Low Pro hopper comes with either a 55 gallon (208 liter) drum or half-size drum. It is available with a Quick Seal drum lid mechanism that readily latches open and shut to expedite emptying or change-out of the drum and exerts heavy mechanical pressure on the lid in the closed position, creating a tight gasketed seal that prevents dust migration. The hopper is best suited to free-flowing dust and fume particles generated by metalworking processes such as laser and plasma cutting, blasting, welding and some thermal spray operations.

The Low Boy hopper consists of a clamp-on angled hopper and low-profile bin. The unit is designed for collection of heavier bulk density dusts such as those generated during cement and limestone processing, woodworking, and other dry solid handling operations.
