MV5 INTEGRAL Dot Peen Marking System

Compact Dot Peen Marker With Integrated Control Unit

The innovative and compact dot peen marking systems from the MV5 INTEGRAL model series are equipped with an internal control unit. The previously required wiring works between marking head and control unit and the installation in the control cabinet is not required anymore. No space for an external control unit needs to be provided. Recently, the product range of our INTEGRAL marking systems has been extended by two more models. The new marking system MV5 U85/45 INTEGRAL is equipped with a marking field of 85 x 45 mm (optionally 120 x 45 mm) and extends the strengths of the already existing model MV5 U65/30 INTEGRAL. Proven features include the compact, space-saving design due to the integrated control system and the completely electric drive concept. Furthermore, a simple and quick integration into a production or testing facility is possible.

Due to the use of latest manufacturing technologies and materials, the dot peen marking head convinces with its light weight of only approx. 4.0 kg. The mounting on a robot arm is possible without any problems. The marking pin can also be replaced easily, quickly and inexpensively.

As the drive of the marking pin is electromagnetic, no compressed air supply is needed. This reduces the operating costs and makes this dot peen marking head next to the good price-performance-ratio even more attractive.

The marking head is suitable to mark several materials up to a hardness of 63 HRC. The marking force of the solenoid which was especially developed for marking purposes can be adjusted individually to the material and the needed marking depth (marking force 1 to 30). With this, a precise marking of nearly all materials is guaranteed.

Compared to the MV5 U65/30 INTEGRAL marking system, the new MV5 U85/45 INTEGRAL offers a more stable guidance system. The high quality, double guided linear guides in X- and Y-direction guarantee a high repeatability and an exceedingly precise and warp free marking result. The marking head can be mounted in any position and can optionally be protected using a protection cover.

As standard, device programming can be done directly via the proven MARKATOR® PC-software. Access to the control is either via the Ethernet interface on the device, which enables control via a company network, or autonomously via the USB-B interface. With an optional display for direct visualization, programming is performed directly on the device using a USB keyboard. Access via Ethernet or via USB-B interface then remains optionally possible.

Due to 6 status LEDs which are located directly on the marking head, a fast function check (e.g. basic position x/y, error, etc.) is possible. Also included as standard are 4 digital inputs and outputs which can be used for synchronization. Several hundred marking files can be stored in the internal memory of the dot peen marker.

Via the Ethernet TCP/IP program option, the marking system can be integrated into an existing control system, such as a robotic control system, industrial PC or PLC. Data such as user data, content data, as well as attributes e.g. position x/y and character height can be transmitted. For a simple and fast communication with the PLC (Siemens S7, TIA), an optional function block developed from MARKATOR® can be used. This guarantees a smooth installation into a PLC-driven production line (via the Ethernet-interface).

New, introduced with the MV5 U85/45 INTEGRAL marking system, is the expansion option via two card slots. Available are plug-in cards for PROFIBUS, PROFINET (CU / LWL), Ethernet/IP (Rockwell protocol) and a card for external power supply for PROFINET participants. As for the Ethernet interface, a function block developed by MARKATOR® (Siemens S7, TIA) is optionally available for smooth installation in a PLC-controlled production line.

The mentioned features, combined with the low acquisition and operating costs as well as the low spare parts stock, result in an attractive price-performance ratio and predestine the MV5 U85/45 INTEGRAL for the application areas, e.g. test facilities, environments without existing compressed air supply, applications with Data Matrix Codes, date / time stamping, simple part markings, robotic applications.

    hardness

Hardness is a measure of the resistance of a material to surface indentation or abrasion. There is no absolute scale for hardness. In order to express hardness quantitatively, each type of test has its own scale, which defines hardness. Indentation hardness obtained through static methods is measured by Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers and Knoop tests. Hardness without indentation is measured by a dynamic method, known as the Scleroscope test.
