The AS5202-X will cut the required spot face and counterbore only; it does not cut the thread minor diameter. A coolant hole to each flute aids with increased chip evacuation, higher speeds and feeds, and longer tool life. The polished flute face optimizes performance for a smoother surface finish.

A titanium nitride (TiN) bearing nut improves rigidity as the uniquely designed gold ring reduces collet damage, reduces micro vibration with the collet flange, and eliminates friction with the collet. It improves the cutting rigidity and the quality of the cut compared to traditional collet chucks.

A concentration of 0.5% VpCI-649 BD may be all that is needed to inhibit corrosion inside the tooling cooling water system. As time passes, this concentration may change as water is lost. Workers should therefore periodically monitor the water (e.g., by the molybdate tracer or refractometer) to make sure the right level of VpCI®-649 BD remains.

Full grip jaws are manufactured for chuck sizes ranges between 4" and 10" diameters and are available in 1018 steel and 6061 aluminum. Jaw heights are available between 1" and 4". Soft jaws are available in 1018 steel and 6061 aluminum, in heights from .75" to 5.00 inches, and widths from .75 to 3.00 inches.

All TJ Davies custom retention knobs are manufactured from American-made 8620 alloy steel which has a high tensile strength to withstand strong centrifugal force, high load force, high feed rate, and difficult to machine material. All knobs are machined in-house with single point threading to Imperial (Class 2A UNC) or Metric (Class G6) standards.
