PI (Physik Instrumente) has engineered and released two new compact multiple-axis positioning stages based on low-profile parallel-kinematic motion devices. Driven by piezo ceramic motors, nanometer precision is achieved along with high stability based on low heat generation and a drift free auto-position-clamping feature.

GF Machining Solutions says its new AgieCharmilles CUT P Series of wire EDMs provides users precise positioning and contouring capabilities for enhanced part quality and productivity. Weiler Abrasives Group announced the expansion of its resin fiber discs (RFDs) offering to include five new products for varying performance requirements: Tiger Ceramic, Zirc and Aluminum, and Wolverine Zirc and Aluminum Oxide. These discs are designed to provide an aggressive cut rate and a smooth finish on tool steel, aluminum and any material in between. The products are ideal for heavy stock removal, edge chamfering, weld blending, grinding, and surface preparation and finishing.

Allied Machine & Engineering announces the expansion of its AccuPort 432/AccuThread 856 program to include more than 120 kits for manufacturing hydraulic ports and manifolds. The kits are available to meet SAE J1926; ISO I6149; John Deere G1731; and SAE AS5202 (aerospace standard/Mil-Spec) specifications.
