A new design belt skimmer by Keller Products Inc. eliminates skimmer discard pail overflow and permits virtually 100 percent tramp oil discard with no loss of coolant, while continuously recycling clean coolant to the sump.

Reversible hard jaws from Dillon Manufacturing Inc., which are suitable for ID and OD workholding, can reportedly decrease the time and cost of tool setups, yet still accurately grip and locate workpieces. The jaws hold a specific range of part sizes and are usually used for first operation workholding.

PhotoMachining Inc. recently installed its new MicroMachine – USP III ultrashort pulse laser micromachining workstation at a world renowned medical care and research institution for the development of novel medical, implantable, surgical and diagnostic devices.

With trochoidal milling, significant improvements in terms of tool costs, clamping, processing times and load on the machine components can be achieved in many applications compared to conventional milling. For this milling technique, MAPAL has expanded its OptiMill product range by adding mills for the machining of titanium and high-alloy steels, as well as for hard machining.

The new UBT-T4 universal single-roll burnishing tool from Cogsdill Tool Products Inc. offers a compact design for use where limited space is available. This turning-holder-style tool is designed for, but not limited to, use on multispindle automatic and screw machines.

The MIL-Spec 5015 series from Mencom Corp. was originally designed for severe aeronautical and tactical service applications. Due to the rugged and versatile design, these connectors are widely used in a range of commercial and industrial applications, such as factory automation, robotics, instrumentation, medical equipment and power applications.

UnionChemnitz has developed a new precision boring mill. The KCG was developed to fill the gap in the market between a classic boring mill and a jig boring machine in terms of precision and price-performance ratio.

HEIDENHAIN Corp. announces the release of its next generation testing device, the PWT 100. The PWT 100 is a compact standalone device used for checking the function and adjustment of HEIDENHAIN encoders, and is ideal for mobile use.

To make the fine machining of the crankshaft bearing journals on a machining centre economical, line boring bars are often used. With an innovative concept, MAPAL has been able, in collaboration with a machine manufacturer, to optimize this processing in several ways: Compared with conventional line boring bars, quality can be increased, processing can be sped up, and tool service life can be increased, all thanks to the new line boring bars with compensation-enabled cutting edges.

The Tritan-Drill, the 3-flute drill from MAPAL, achieves more bores, a longer tool life and lower machining costs compared with its twin-fluted companion. The Tritan-Drill makes it possible to machine with a significantly higher feed rate. In both standard and special designs, it combines process reliability and high performance.

Marposs Corp.'s Brankamp CMS system for collision monitoring is designed to reduce or even eliminate machine collisions that generally lead to high repair costs and long downtimes. The Brankamp CMS system detects dynamically increasing forces with damage potential within milliseconds and sends a stop signal to the machine drives.

Microcut, a manufacturer and distributor of miniature and microsized carbide cutting tools, has produced a 180-page catalog, It includes new lines of variable-helix 3-flute endmills in long-reach, long-shank, long-flute and corner-radius versions. In addition, 272-degree spherical endmills, miniature long-reach corner-rounding endmills, and 82-degree drill point mills are offered.
