SICK announced the launch of the TriSpector1000 vision sensor for cost-efficient and reliable 3D inspection. The TriSpector1000 is a stand-alone, configurable 3D vision sensor that reliably inspects objects regardless of variations in object color, shape or position.

Heimatec Inc.'s line of 1:4 live tool speed multipliers enable tools to reach a maximum speed of 24,000 rpm. They are available for all popular live tool lathes. The speed multipliers are provided as axial or radial drilling and milling heads, with either internal or external coolant.

Seco Tools LLC offers PCD05- and PCD20-grade PCD-tipped milling inserts for its Turbo 10 cutter bodies. The inserts are suitable for cutting aluminum, titanium, polymers and fiber-reinforced composites. When used with carbide inserts, the PCD-tipped inserts act as wiper inserts in fixed pockets.

The 180° flat cutting edge creates a minimal exit burr. The tools feature the Aqua EX coating for enhanced heat and wear resistance.

Cobra Carbide Inc.'s ADDER universal endmills have a 40° helix and a variable-flute geometry. According to the company, the endmills enable chatter-free milling in hard, ferrous materials and impart fine surface finishes. The coatings reportedly allow users to dramatically increase feeds and speeds, take deeper DOCs and extend tool life.

Eriez' air-operated lift-magnet system moves multiple parts or cutouts up and off of burn tables. It also can lift single sheets or plates up to 3" (76.2mm) thick from a stack to load a table. The system improves productivity and safety by eliminating manual handling of multiple parts and the need for operators to climb on burn tables, according to the company.

Sandvik Coromant Co. says the GC4305-grade insert maximizes metal-removal rates, shortens processing times and enhances component quality when turning steel. It is made of a heat-resistant cutting material that is suitable for dry machining, which is ideal for automotive part manufacturers that seek to avoid the stresses tools experience as a result of temperature fluctuations.

Kyocera Precision Tools Inc. says positive-style inserts with its WP chipbreaker and a wiper cutting edge impart fine surface finishes at low cutting forces. The chipbreaker stabilizes chip conditions at low feed rates, controls excess chip breaking during high-feed and high-load machining and prevents tearing of the finished surface by controlling adhesion.
