The secret to the high performance of the "powersafe" feature is the combination of sophisticated firmware and hardware features. Highly reliable tantalum capacitors that store energy while the SSD is in operation form the basis. In the event of a sudden power outage, the stored charge is used to safely write both dynamic data and data in the DRAM cache to the NAND flash array. Intelligent power management within the firmware ensures that the power supply disconnects from the host upon reaching a critical threshold and connects to the regulated voltage of the capacitors instead. The rectangular power connectors series (CX-8/0) feature safe crimp termination. Compared to other rectangular inserts using the axial screw termination, the CX-8/0 series with crimp technology is more resistant to mechanical stresses such as vibration, shock, and strain on wire strands. The horizontal versions – models 225-UF and 235-UF – have a flat design that creates space for larger hand clearance, which improves operational safety.

Parylene is the ultimate protective coating, and is used for customers that require protection of equipment, components, and surfaces in a range of end-use applications. Parylene is a hydrophobic polymer which is lightweight and can be applied as an extremely thin homogeneous film. This film is absolutely smooth and totally transparent, and does not cause any unwanted effects such as surface tension and distortion. The coating provides incredible resistance to aggressive media and liquid hydrocarbons, and can also be used as a diffusion barrier to gases.
