Makrolite 4K is flexible, easy to use, and provides high definition video images with a wide dynamic range and up to 330x magnification. With a new extension of the OPC UA specification, which Beckhoff played a prominent role in helping develop, the publisher/subscriber principle is being introduced into the established and standardized OPC UA communication protocol. Two different transport paths are defined in the specification for data transmission: UDP and MQTT. UDP enables efficient and real-time-capable data exchange in a local network between machines or machine components. Transport via an MQTT message broker primarily, but not exclusively, supports cloud scenarios.

Through the device passthrough feature of TwinCAT/BSD Hypervisor, hardware resources such as the GPU, USB ports and/or network interfaces can be explicitly assigned to a virtual machine. In this way, access to the TwinCAT/BSD system by user and/or network interfaces can be limited, creating opportunities to boost control system security.

The new LNMU0303UER inserts are designed to provide a smaller approach angle than existing LNMU0303ZER inserts when set on the cutter body so that the insert generates thin chips. This chip thinning effect reduces cutting loads, minimizing damage on the cutting edges during machining of exotic materials for longer insert tool life. Also, a small approach angle directs the cutting forces in the axial direction towards the spindle.
