Quadro Turnstile

July 12, 2012

STROTHMANN continuously improves its RoundTrack technology and incorporates customer requirements. Now, the quadro turnstile, the youngest RoundTrack crossing, is even thinner, facilitating an effort-saving in-floor installation. Simultaneously the payload of the quadro turnstile size 25 has been increased to 16 t.

The crossing consists of four turntables, available as hydraulically or manually actuated models. The pivoting transport drive enables trolleys to independently move in all directions. STROTHMANN's patented RoundTrack technology is used to transport heavy industrial goods from one manufacturing station to the next in many production lines. Often, even one straight rail line leads to considerable reductions of throughput times as well as major improvements in workplace ergonomics.

On the other hand, when customers wish to implement changes in direction, the quadro turnstile, in addition to crossover mechanisms and turntables, is fast turning into the favorite crossing element. Approximately 30 percent of RoundTrack customers use the possibility of integrating crossings into their transport system. The latest generation of quadro turnstiles provides them with a heavy-duty, energy-saving, and comfortable solution.

    turning

Workpiece is held in a chuck, mounted on a face plate or secured between centers and rotated while a cutting tool, normally a single-point tool, is fed into it along its periphery or across its end or face. Takes the form of straight turning (cutting along the periphery of the workpiece); taper turning (creating a taper); step turning (turning different-size diameters on the same work); chamfering (beveling an edge or shoulder); facing (cutting on an end); turning threads (usually external but can be internal); roughing (high-volume metal removal); and finishing (final light cuts). Performed on lathes, turning centers, chucking machines, automatic screw machines and similar machines.
