German Machine Tools of America (GMTA) offers a full line of Samag multispindle machining centers and deep-hole drilling machines to the North American market. Samag, based in Saalfeld, Germany, with offices and service centers worldwide, engineers and builds a variety of multispindle machines, the MFZ series for high-volume cubic work pieces and the modular WBM series for rotary parts and shafts with up to six-spindle deep-drilling capabilities.
The company supplies complete turnkey solution, including tooling, workholding, robotic articulation, parts handlers and transfer mechanisms for high-production work such as knuckles, engine blocks, gear boxes, valves and connecting rods.
Generally the new developed MFZ series starts with180 spindle distance for smaller parts and goes up to 840 for large workpieces and is available with two, three or four spindles and linear or ballscrew-driven technology.
On the WBM series, Samag is always going along with the market and developed special solutions for drilling engine valves and gear shaft for several Tier 1 engine and gear manufactures worldwide.
