November 01, 2010

Metabo Corp. now offers the WP11-150 Quick 6" angle grinder with the added safety feature of a non-locking paddle switch for safer tool operation. This new high-powered angle grinder with an extra high cooling capacity is ideal for fast work even under the toughest operating conditions, including cutting and grinding metal or concrete. The WP11-150 Quick features a long lasting 9.6 A motor with 1,100 watts of power, 29 inch-lbs of torque, a no-load speed of 9,000 rpm and a rated-load speed of 6,500 rpm, making this tool one of the most efficient non-electronic angle grinders available.

The compact angle grinder offers one of the most effective dust protective systems on the market, helping to extend the tool's service life by shielding the motor. The WP11-150 Quick features an encapsulated on/off switch, auto-stop carbon brushes, double-lipped labyrinth sealed bearings and epoxy coated field coil windings. The Metabo winding protection grid increases armature life by up to five times in harsh environments. This lightweight grinder weighs just 5.9 pounds.

It features an ergonomic housing design with a secure 'racket' grip and dual grip zones for comfortable handling as well as Metabo's VibraTech (MVT) side handle to absorb up to 60 percent vibration, allowing the operator to hold the tool longer for fatigue-free operation and greatly reducing the exposure to long term, work-related disorders like HAVS or White Finger Syndrome. The WP11-150 Quick has a toolless wheel change system that increases operator efficiency and saves time and energy when replacing wheels. Other safety features include a toolless burst-proof wheel guard with seven locking positions, a spindle lock, an S-automatic safety slip clutch to help protect the operator from kickback by absorbing the torque created should the wheel bind or snag, and a deadman function that turns the tool off immediately when the switch is released.

Optional equipment for the WP11-150 Quick includes a Type-1 Cut-off Wheel Guard and a Dust Director Tuck Point Guard.
