Drill Heads

DDHM CVD Diamond-Tipped Tool System

The DDHM system is aimed primarily at customers in the tool and die-making industries. The focus is on machining carbide punches and dies efficiently. The tool system also offers significant advantages in other areas such as the medical and aerospace sectors, the automotive industry, and punching, forging and forming technology. The diamond tools enable shorter throughput times, high surface quality, lower overall costs, greater flexibility within the production process and longer tool life. The drills can be used for producing holes in solid material to a maximum depth of ten times the diameter. The CVD-D tipped drills have a two-edged design and are available in diameters ranging from 2 mm (0.079”) to 10 mm (0.394”). All versions boast internal channels for cooling with air.

TwistSFeed Drill Family

TwistSFeed reduces costs by improving tool life as well as achieving higher productivity due to multiple flutes along with new IN2205 coating designed for steel and cast iron applications. The clamping mechanism allows for the simple replacement of drill tips as well as accommodating multiple tip diameters per drill body facilitating economical stock management for end users.

Drill Mills

Cutting diameter sizes range from 1/8" to 1/2". Included angle options are 90° or 120°. The two-flute design is optimal when chip evacuation and increased chip per tooth are the priority. For harder materials, the fortified strength of the four-flute design performs best and allows for increased feed rates in hard materials. Items are stocked uncoated or AlTiN coated. AlTiN coating is highly recommended for longevity and high-speed applications.

Patriot High Performance (HP) Drill

Incorporating a wide range of drill lengths and diameters, ARCH Cutting Tools Patriot High Performance portfolio of solid carbide drills excels across the broad spectrum of all ISO class workpiece materials, from general steels, cast irons, HSRA, and many more. With diameters as small as 0.8 mm (0.0314 inches) and up to 20.0mm (0.7874 inches), single or double margin offering based on cutting diameter.

AH9130 Grade for DrillForce-Meister

AH9130, consisting of a PVD coating layer optimized for drilling applications with a dedicated carbide substrate, is the latest insert grade specifically developed to provide significant tool life improvements and more predictable wear patterns in hole making applications of ISO P (steel), ISO M (stainless steel), and ISO K (cast iron). 17 SMP-style inserts have been released in the latest grade, covering diameters from 20.0 mm to 35.0 mm (.787″ to 1.378″). In addition to Tungaloy’s versatile grade AH725 which covers most ISO materials, AH9130 provides DrillForce-Meister with added process security and tool life improvements in ISO P, M, and K applications.

HX Jobber Drill

The PTD HX can deliver up to 70% more holes in moderate conditions. The versatility of the industry’s “Go-To” jobber drill extends beyond medium strength materials, delivering 18% more holes in heavy conditions and up to 30% more holes in light conditions.

D3120 Indexable Insert Drill

Available in diameter sizes ranging from 0.562-1.375 in. and 16-42 mm with 2, 3, 4 x Dc, the new drill delivers maximum process reliability with simple and efficient chip removal, two coolant channels and polished flutes. Superior protection against friction is provided by the D3120 hardened and polished surfaces. This combination of surface hardness and improved coolant flow results in reduced wear on the drill surface.

ToolRoom Software Update

BSB and DCR tool types are high performance endmill cutters, mainly used for finishing requiring high accuracies. They may be more familiar to some as circular segment or high feed endmills. In the current market, cutting tool manufacturers may be looking to enter new markets and this software release makes diversification with high-quality specialist tools attainable.

DrillForce-Meister Flat Head Drill Tips

DrillForce-Meister uses exchangeable drill tips designed to efficiently open large diameter holes ranging from 20.0 mm to 40.0 mm (.787″ – 1.575″) at a lower cost. With the drill tips being exchangeable, DrillForce-Meister not only eliminates the need for regrinding and recoating, as is the case with solid carbide drills, but also reduces the amount of tool float inventory kept to avoid machine downtime, thus minimizing the overall cost per hole in high volume production lines.
