ISCAR is expanding the BALL-PLUS family—a line of one-insert profile milling cutters—with new additions, including ball-nose-shaped inserts and the tools that accommodate them.

The new inserts are available in the following design options:
HCR D300-QF: A general-duty insert with a diameter of 30mm (1.181”), having a 180° spherical cutting edge and two straight tangent cutting edges. This insert is primarily intended for profiling in combination with shoulder milling – operations commonly required for machining various 3D surfaces, particularly when producing cavities.

HBR D320-QF // HBR D1.25-QF: Two-flute, bulb-type inserts with 220° spherical cutting edge in diameter 32mm (metric product line) and 1.25” (inch product line). The inserts are mainly designed for rough to semi-finish milling of geometrically complicated shapes and steep profiles, as well as for up and down ramping and undercutting.

These inserts are made from multi-purpose IC908 carbide grade.

The new tools are available as exchangeable milling heads with ISCAR’s FLEX-FIT and MULTI-MASTER adaptations. These configurations allow the heads to be mounted on a wide variety of existing shanks, adapters, extensions, and reducers from the popular modular FLEX-FIT and MULTI-MASTER systems, significantly expanding the application range of the newly introduced BALL-PLUS products. In addition, the modularity concept provides a valuable opportunity for the customer to configure a tool in an optimal manner.
