The GP1350 5-Axis portal milling machining center from GROB Systems that was designed for a variety of manufacturing tasks, including large components, complex geometries, and maximum precision.

The GP1350 offers a broad X-Y-Z working travel of 55 / 77 / 43 inches (1,400 / 1,950 / 1,100 millimeters) to accommodate large parts. According to the company, it performs reliably on components with a maximum workpiece diameter of 69 inches (1,750 millimeters) and a maximum workpiece height of 65 inches (1,650 millimeters) while supporting a maximum load of up to 3.6 tons.

The tool magazine has capacity for up to 408 tools and a double row allocation allows ergonomic and efficient setup of several tools at the same time. With the option of integrating pallet changers, pallet storage systems, and autonomous loading systems (AMR), the GP1350 can be fully automated and is equally suitable for production processes ranging from single to multi-part series, the company says.

A combination of powerful spindles, a robust table, and dynamic axis movements enable the GP1350 to machine a wide variety of materials economically. The universal milling head with an undercut of -2.5 degrees significantly reduces setup times and saves valuable production time, while the compact design of 20 L x 18 W x 12 H feet (6,150 x 5,300 x 3700 millimeters) allows manufacturing large parts with a minimal footprint.

With its high load-bearing capacity, precise portal structure, and automation options, the GP1350 offers users stable processes, reduced scrap rates, and high production reliability. The GP1350 is suitable for a wide range of industries such as tool, die and mold, energy technology, aerospace, and the automotive industry.
