BESSEMER CITY, NC — Precision Drive Systems (PDS), a global provider of precision motor spindles, expert support, and repair near Charlotte, NC, announced Doug Lawrence as its product manager and subject matter expert (SME) for its metalworking spindle repair business.

"After 20 years at SETCO in Cincinnati and Atlanta, we look forward to sharing his spindle expertise in engineering, sales, and management in this cross-functional new role at PDS."

Reporting directly to Allen Turk as product manager and a veteran spindle technology subject matter expert, Lawrence will train the operations staff in troubleshooting and repairing metalworking spindles and perform on-site analyses of the spindles of customers and prospects for hidden issues. He will oversee metalworking spindle repairs and machining applications engineering in North America.

After beginning his career as an associate engineer on the product development team for Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a division of Johnson & Johnson, Lawrence spent 20 years with SETCO Service Company, where he distinguished himself in engineering manager, service engineer, and vibration manager roles. He recently worked as a Technical Account Manager for Jaeger Spindles North America, where he managed inside and outside sales for North and South America. Lawrence earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from the University of Cincinnati.
