ModuleWorks has appointed Gürsel Demircali as chief strategy and transformation officer. Davi, Inc. plans to move its North American operations into a new, larger state-of-the-art facility located in Carrollton, Texas, near downtown Dallas. This move allows the company to significantly expand its customer sales and service support, as well as provide additional space for customer events and technology demonstrations, training, machine refurbishment and more.

Sandvik has acquired 80% of the Canada-based K&Y Diamond, a leading manufacturer of monocrystalline diamond tools for ultra-precision applications, with a strong position in the optics segment. K&Y Diamond will be operated under Sandvik Coromant, a division within the Machining business segment. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Alturas, an Idaho-based family of companies, is uniting three manufacturers, EnviroTech of Boise, Idaho, G Zero of Nampa, Idaho, and the assets of Cardic Machine Products of Carson, California, under the EnviroTech banner.

At the end of January, Bystronic completed the acquisition of the Tools for Materials Processing division of the US company Coherent Corp. With this acquisition, Bystronic plans to expand into several growth markets such as medical technology and semiconductors.
