When the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli & C SpA takes to the renowned Belle Isle circuit for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear Corp., it will be once again joined by 3-Dimensional Services Group, Rochester Hills, Michigan, the title sponsor for both Trans Am races.

3-Dimensional, a leader in rapid manufacturing of prototypes and low-volume production with global headquarters in Rochester Hills, Mich., has long been an investor within the surrounding Detroit area and has multiple facilities throughout the region.  Returning with Trans Am to the Detroit Grand Prix for a third year was an easy decision for the 3-Dimensional leadership, eager to give back to the Detroit community while showcasing their capabilities in front of the automotive industry.

“It’s the ultimate win, win, win,” said Keith Chene, Chief Financial Officer of The 3-Dimensional Services Group. “Belle Isle benefits from the Grand Prix weekend, race fans have multiple opportunities to experience the thrill of performance racing here locally and the fine folks at the Grand Prix do a really nice job of giving partners like The 3-Dimensional Services Group some great visibility leading up to and during the race weekend.”

The partnership between the Trans Am Series and The 3-Dimensional Services Group stretches back nearly five years and has helped raise the profile of Trans Am on multiple event weekends— including the past two at Belle Isle.

“The 3-Dimensional Services Group has certainly invested in Trans Am over the past several years,” said John Clagett, President of The Trans Am Race Company.   “Their commitment to the automotive industry and the spectacle of motorsport is unquestionable, and we look forward to working with them to showcase our partnership and certainly entertain the race fans of Detroit.”

For 2018, Trans Am will bring its popular TA2 class to the streets of Belle Isle for a high-stakes double points weekend. The two races, The 3-Dimensional Services Muscle Car Challenge, on Saturday June 2, and The 3-Dimensional Services Motor City Dash, on Sunday June 3, will feature the iconic TA2 class battle between the Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger right in the very heart of the city that forged the iconic models.

The Trans Am Series will bring with it an estimated 25 TA2 cars, featuring the likes of points leader Rafa Matos, 2017 Champion Gar Robinon, Michigan’s own Marc Miller, 2016 Champion Tony Buffomante, and more.
