DRESDEN, NY, September 6th – Abtex Corp., a manufacturer of brush/machine deburring solutions for the manufacturing industry, today announced the promotion of Damian Clemons to Vice President of Engineering.

In his new role, Clemons will oversee all of Abtex’s engineering operations as the company continues to lead the industry as the only deburring manufacturer that designs both abrasive brushes and highly engineered systems to provide efficient deburring solutions for automotive, aerospace, and medical-device industries.

Clemons has been with Abtex since 2015, when Abtex acquired his company, Nihmble Technologies. Most recently, he served as Systems Group Manager, overseeing the design and development of all Systems Group technologies, which include traditional brush/machine deburring solutions as well as robotic systems. In that role, he helped accelerate Abtex’s growth in the design and production of robotic systems for manufacturing, systems integration, and process control, and helped move Abtex to the forefront of deburring systems solutions.

Prior to Nihmble Technologies, Clemons held positions of steadily increasing responsibility in control technology and automation for smaller companies.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology.

“Since joining Abtex, Damian has distinguished himself not only as an outstanding engineer, but also as a creative problem-solver and an excellent manager of technical personnel and operations,” said Jason Saner, Abtex president. “We are confident that his leadership of all engineering operations will continue to provide ongoing benefits for our customers.”
