BIG Kaiser to host open house for students

BIG Kaiser Precision Tooling Inc., Hoffman Estates, Ill., is hosting the Golden Corridor Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (GCAMP) Open House on April 23 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. An event directed toward area students and parents, it will explain what advanced manufacturing means in today's economy. The agenda includes presentations, technology demonstrations and opportunities to talk to college representatives and professionals in the field. 

In addition, the world's first 3D-printed vehicle—the "Strati," which is Italian for "Layers"—will be on display. The zero-emission vehicle was built in the fall of 2014 at IMTS through collaboration between AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology , IMTS, Local Motors, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Cincinnati Inc. AMT's Smartforce Rally Fighter, the world's first open-source production vehicle developed in collaboration between Local Motors and a global community of designers, fabricators, engineers and auto enthusiasts, will also be on display.
