Lévis, Québec, September 25, 2018—Creaform, a specialist in portable 3D measurement solutions and engineering services, announced today the opening of a new office in Barcelona, Spain. With this opening, Creaform further continues its global market expansion and completes another important step in strengthening its metrology services and technology offerings within Europe.

Local staff has been in place since July, responding to the increasing demand for metrology systems and services from the Spanish market, especially from the automotive and aerospace sectors which are key industries for Creaform. Spain is the world’s 8th largest automobile producer and the 2nd largest European car manufacturer. As for its highly advanced aerospace industry, it ranks 8th in the world and 5th in Europe in terms of turnover.

“With Spain’s recent economic and industrial development, there are a great deal of more potential opportunities along with a growing demand for new technologies, such as our portable and automated 3D measurement solutions. We especially have seen increasing demand for automated quality control solutions within the above-mentioned industries. We have responded to that demand with our new 3D scanning CMM, CUBE-R,” explains Marc-Antoine Schneider, Creaform’s Territory Manager. “Going local with a direct sales presence and service office was a logical move for us. Creaform will continue to work together with established distributors to further strengthen its presence in the region.”

The Spanish office opening follows in-line with Creaforms’ market expansion growth strategy. Over the last two years, it has opened offices in Brazil, Italy, Singapore and South Korea.
