Motion Industries Inc. to acquire Numatic Engineering Inc.

Motion Industries Inc., Birmingham, Ala., a wholly owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Co., Atlanta, has agreed to acquire Numatic Engineering Inc., Sun Valley, Calif. The transaction will occur Aug. 1.

Founded in 1955, Numatic Engineering has over 60 years of experience selling and supporting automation components. The company's products include pneumatic automation, electrical motion controls, PLCs, variable frequency drives, machine vision, sensors and industrial communication. For more than a decade, Numatic Engineering has sold lines of robotics, including end-of-arm tooling. The California company sells and implements collaborative robot technology. Numatic Engineering sales and application support teams help engineers, from both OEMs and end users, apply the right products to solve customers' challenges. The company's value-added solutions team, with UL508 listing, provides Numatic Engineering with the ability to assemble the products it sells into engineered solutions to meet specific customer needs.
