Emuge-Franken USA, a manufacturer of end mills, taps, thread mills, drills, gages, tool holders, and standard workholding, is teaming up with Heller Machine Tools and Open Mind Technologies USA (hyperMILL CAD/CAM) to host a complimentary “Machining an Aerospace Housing – From a Whole New Angle” Event at Heller USA's headquarters in Troy, Michigan, on October 16, 2025, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Manufacturing professionals are welcome and encouraged to attend to learn proven methods for reducing setup time, improving part quality, and increasing productivity when 5-Axis precision machining. The event also offers an opportunity to network with other metalworking experts. Lunch will be served.

EvoGrip
The EvoGrip from Emuge-Franken will be displayed at the aerospace machining event.

Delivering unmatched holding power, attendees will see firsthand the new Emuge EvoGrip modular workholding system including its first standard centering vise system with the highest clamping forces in the industry.

Also, a range of Emuge high performance cutting tools for roughing and finishing operations will be demonstrated including Made in the U.S.A. TOP-Cut VAR and Jet-Cut Duplex End Mills and MultiDRILLTools.

Powerful 5-Axis capabilities will be demonstrated on the Heller HF 5500 APC Mill-Turn Machining Center equipped with efficient pallet-changers for machining a complete aerospace housing in one setup. Advanced 5-Axis CAD/CAM programming via Open Mind’s hyperMILL software optimizes productivity and part quality.

Related Glossary Terms

  • centering

    centering

    1. Process of locating the center of a workpiece to be mounted on centers. 2. Process of mounting the workpiece concentric to the machine spindle. See centers.

  • machining center

    machining center

CNC machine tool capable of drilling, reaming, tapping, milling and boring. Normally comes with an automatic toolchanger. See automatic toolchanger.

  • metalworking

    metalworking

Any manufacturing process in which metal is processed or machined such that the workpiece is given a new shape. Broadly defined, the term includes processes such as design and layout, heat-treating, material handling and inspection.

  • precision machining ( precision measurement)

    precision machining ( precision measurement)

Machining and measuring to exacting standards. Four basic considerations are: dimensions, or geometrical characteristics such as lengths, angles and diameters of which the sizes are numerically specified; limits, or the maximum and minimum sizes permissible for a specified dimension; tolerances, or the total permissible variations in size; and allowances, or the prescribed differences in dimensions between mating parts.
