Benefits of trepanning
Video June 30, 2020
Benefits of trepanning
UNISIG, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, demonstrates why trepanning is beneficial when drilling deep holes that are too large for high-pressure coolant drills or gundrills. Utilized in the aerospace, defense, material production, as well as oil and gas industries, trepanning reportedly offers higher productivity in many applications and uses less power than other drilling strategies.
EWE Digital Boring Heads

EWE Digital Boring Heads
Due to the small sizes of these boring heads, the digital display will no longer be present on the head itself, rather the adjustment value will be shown on a separate mobile device or tablet that has the BIG KAISER App installed.

EWA Automatic Adjustment Fine Boring System
The EWA68 boring head has a travel range of .866" on diameter, and with the smallest insert holder, it covers the range of Ø2.677-3.543". This means that similar-sized bores on the same part could be produced with a single boring head.
An engineered approach to deep-hole drilling

An engineered approach to deep-hole drilling
Books have been written on how to produce deep holes using milling machines or lathes, but trying to drill deep holes with depth-to-diameter ratios greater than 15-1 (D-d) using standard machining centers often leads to frustration, costly scrap and poor use of shop resources.
BoreMeister Series Setting Device

DrillForce-Meister Line With Smaller Drill Diameters
DrillForce-Meister incorporates a unique seat design that enables easy and swift drill head exchanges, while maximizing the clamping security, making drilling easy on curved surfaces, inclined exits, or components with a stability problem. The seat is designed with a maximum possible contact surface to hold the drill head in place for secure stability during demanding large-diameter bore drilling with the IT9-IT10 hole tolerance.
SNG Coolant-Through Holders
Product April 7, 2020
SNG Coolant-Through Holders
Designed for the internal grooving of bores with diameters as small as 8.0 mm (.315″) up to 24.0 mm (.945″), while promising reliable chip evacuation. The shanks are made of either steel for economy or tungsten carbide for long reach areas where tool steadiness is vital.
A short story about the parabolic flute drill

A short story about the parabolic flute drill
I received an email from Lynn Fifer, a retired cutting tool professional and CTE reader since 1967, who shared his recollections about the development of the parabolic flute drill. Fifer said the development occurred in 1950s at the old Mohawk Tools Inc., Montpelier, Ohio, well before he started with the toolmaker in 1967.
