Norton NORaX N889 belts feature an engineered, high-performance micron-grade aluminum oxide grain structured in a fine 3D pyramid pattern which is especially well suited for lower pressure (0-8 PSI) applications where belt flexibility is needed. The engineered abrasive slowly erodes during grinding, exposing new, sharp abrasive grains resulting in 2-5X longer belt life than conventional polishing belts, as well as higher quality finishes, faster cutting rates and an ability to reduce finishing/ polishing steps.

At the Christchurch Engine Centre in New Zealand, surfacing solutions expert Rösler UK has worked with Pratt & Whitney to improve their shot blasting process.

The UltraTEC ultrasonic A25 creates a formation and dissolution/implosion of bubbles in water that release an intense energy during implosion. This is created by an ultra-high oscillation of 20kHz (20,000 oscillations per second) with an oscillation width of +/-80-120microns, which far exceeds the amplitude of ultrasonic cleaning, cutting and welding technologies.

Aluma-Bright Foam can be used at 65°F to 180°F at concentrations of 1% to 10% by volume with water. Foam, immerse, wipe, scrub, or spray on metal then rinse thoroughly with water. Contact time will vary with soil loading and application. For optimum results when working with large surfaces, clean from the bottom-to-top to minimize streaking effects, then water rinse from the top of the part and work towards the bottom. Using a dedicated slow flood rinse motion with ambient to cool clean water, an operator can determine that soils and any acidic residual chemical residue are neutralized and rinsed away when a smooth water break free surface film is observed during rinsing.

ARCH Cutting Tools Corp. announces the acquisition of O-D Tool & Cutter, Inc., a manufacturer of solid carbide and high-speed steel round tools located in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

The improved zirconia alumina and aluminum oxide blending discs also deliver better performance and product life. In addition, the expanded blending disc portfolio provides more connection types, with all of the grain options in the lineup now available in Type S and Type R connections. All the discs are now available with a resin fiber or cloth backing. The resin fiber backing helps reduce the pressure an operator must apply to the disc to maximize the cut rate. It also helps retain the grain on the disc, increasing disc life. The cloth backing offers a more comfortable disc that gives the operator greater control of material removal. The Weiler Abrasives blending disc portfolio also includes a line of aluminum discs that remains unchanged.

National Manufacturing Co., a Piscataway, New Jersey-based provider of specialty deep and shallow drawn stamping, was acquired by Chicago-based CORE Industrial Partners, according to a Tuesday announcement from the company.
