The global heavy equipment market is projected to grow at a 4.4% CAGR, driven by advancements in automation, telematics, and infrastructure investments.
Vertical turning systems now integrate functions like grinding, combining precision and automation to handle tight tolerances in electric vehicles and jet engines.
Rodrigo Perez's journey into the world of manufacturing began during high school, but not in a classroom. While working construction for his father, Perez crossed paths with an electronics engineer who taught him about machining and manufacturing; how to use a mill and a lathe; how to put together circuit boards; how to solder surface components and wires, and build robotic computer systems.
Because of the ground chip breaker on these inserts, the inserts are handed (left hand and right hand insert), but these are standard ISO shapes and sizes- so they are held in conventional ISO turning holders. The inserts also use 'M' or maximum material condition tolerance on the corner radii of the cermet, thus allowing for machining of small radius shoulders while utilizing maximum (larger) corner radius strength. The primary application for the WEP01C cermet inserts is turning steels and cast irons (ISO P and ISO K material groups).
Both machines have two spindles and three turrets – two upper and one lower – for unequaled DONE IN ONEÆ part processing opportunities and high-volume throughput in single setups. The drum-style turrets provide 12 or 16 tool positions and rotary tool capability. Main machine spindles handle 4" bar stock while the second spindle is capable of processing bar diameters up to 2.992" (76 mm). The machine easily integrates with available bar feeders and workpiece loaders/unloaders for fully automated operations.
