United Grinding North America opened its doors for Evolution to Revolution, a precision CNC grinding industry event filled with live machine demonstrations, technology innovations, breakout discussion sessions and keynote presentations from some of the industry's best-known companies.

The highly flexible and efficient high-pressure water jet deburring system enables deburring and cleaning with a water pressure of around 500 bar in one work step. The rotary table integrated in the treatment chamber of the new system with pneumatic connections for automatic workpiece clamping devices is designed for components with a diameter of up to 450 mm and a maximum height of 550 mm. The maximum workpiece weight including the clamping device is 100 kg. These dimensions make it possible to handle, for example, an engine block for a four- cylinder engine or several small parts. The water jet generated in the high- pressure unit with a pressure of up to 500 bar is passed through a four-way nozzle system with automatic nozzle switch.

The AOV orbital sander tool is specially designed for grinding and polishing workpiece surfaces. The pneumatic unit is driven by a vane motor and achieves rotational speeds of 10,000 RPM. The MFT-R is the ideal solution for manufacturers who require a particularly flexible and robust polishing spindle for polishing and brushing of workpieces with axial compliance. The PCFC ensures that a consistent compliance force is acting in any position, due to the position sensor.

The geometry is available as a standard tool for the 224, 229, S34T, 315, and 64T systems for precision machining of external grooves. For internal machining, it is available for the 105, 108, 111, 114, and 216 systems. Further insert types are available as special tools and can be delivered quickly via the Greenline system, whereby it is possible to deliver up to 50 customized inserts, depending on the design, within five working days after approval of the drawing by the customer.

The program involves time studies and observation of abrasive usage to gather quantitative data that can be measured and verified, leading to a repeatable solution. Weiler Abrasives representatives look at how abrasives are used, how long they last and how productive they are.

The M18 FUEL™ 4-1/2" / 5" Grinders will be available May 2021, followed by the M18 FUEL™ 4-1/2" / 5" Braking Grinders w/ ONE-KEY™ available Summer 2021. The stones have a distinct pink color due to their components and can be used on a variety of steels and alloys where sharp cutting action is essential. The characteristics of the pink abrasive grain make the stones exceptionally durable while providing cooler cutting. Each kit contains a wide variety of stone sizes for use on both large and small workpieces.

The color-coding helps stop cross-contamination in operations working with both carbon and stainless steel by making it easy to identify the correct wire brush. The color-coding is a visual change to an existing product line — there will be no change to the performance of the stainless steel offering. Part numbers and pricing will also remain the same.
