Greenerd will present unique hydraulic press application solutions at IMTS this year, including discussing an automated 30-Ton Gantry style hydraulic press which was built for an application requiring precise positioning of pins. A linear transducer mounted in the press cylinder enables a minimum depth to be programmed into the control to ensure proper pin depth has been achieved. The 25' long hydraulic press features automated gantry positioning with optical recognition of the distance between each set of pins to be inserted. The cycle can be initiated in autonomous operation where the gantry moves to each pin location and applies the set of tonnage on the pins. n

The SIGC series has been expanded to include Kyocera's unique "Excellent Bar" steel shank and carbide shank toolholder styles. Kyocera is also offering the SIGC in left-handed toolholder and insert styles to cover a wider variety of internal grooving applications.

To cover the breadth of applications within the MRO segment, there are drills for general purpose machine and portable drilling. These include the popular HSS R10 series for right hand drilling and HSS L10 series for left hand drilling. Also included are the carbide DC series of center drills. There is a specific selection for sheet metal drilling and spot weld drilling. n

These three Duratomic grades feature innovations based on world-leading coating chemistry developments adapted to manufacturers' application needs. In addition to offering superior mechanical and thermal properties, this coating also provides the chrome-colored Used-Edge Detection technology, which makes every edge count and reduces potential waste.

Applied FLEX-TRED is resistant to motor oil, detergent, hydraulic oil, and UV. It will tolerate steam and detergent cleaning and is essentially unaffected by climactic exposure and mild acid or alkali exposure under normal conditions. Die cut FLEX-TRED is ideal for application on gas/brake pedals, machinery deck plates, equipment steps and walkways, mowers, snow groomers, tow motors and forklifts, on platforms, scaffolds, cherry pickers, and ladders, and more.

The mill is best suited to machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous material and materials with difficult cutting properties. This wide range of uses results in lower tooling and administrative costs, as does the fact that its 90° approach angle dramatically decreases the need for finishing operations. Walter Tiger·tec cutting tool materials, the high number of teeth, and small indexable inserts also makes it ideal for workpieces with small machining allowances.n

DrillMeister incorporates a unique self-locking interface that enables simple and secure drill head exchange. Since drill heads can be replaced without having to remove the drill body from the spindle, tool setup time can significantly be reduced, eliminating presetting, offset, and touch-off of the replaced tool.

Small diameter gundrills have resulted in cost savings. This was driven from tool life and throughput improvements, including several case studies that were done that resulted in doubling production capability

The DeHoff 3060 has a single spindle with a maximum boring capacity of 3 inches (76.2 mm) and a maximum boring depth of 60 inches (1524 mm). To meet the rigorous material removal requirements, the cutting tool is powered by a 40 horsepower spindle motor with a 4-speed gearbox. A totally custom workpiece loading and fixturing system was designed specifically for the customer's unique part. The machine features Beckhoff CNC controls with G-Code programming capability.n

Designed for slotting operations between 4-12 mm and cutting-off operations from 4-8 mm, the 335.18 and 335.19 cutters are available in metric diameters ranging from 32 mm to 125 mm. Inch diameters range from 1.25" to 4" with widths from 0.156" to 0.50". Inserts for these cutters are available with the full range of grades, edge geometries and corner radii (0.2-6.0 mm, 0.008"-0.236"). For the greatest flexibility and ease of use, as well as superior radial and axial reach, the 335.18 and 335.19 cutters utilize modular Combimaster connections.
