Walter has announced several extensions to its Tiger-tec Gold inserts, all of which possess the features that have made it so successful: A smooth rake face for excellent friction characteristics; optimal wear detection due to its gold-colored top layer; an especially tough cutting edge for maximum process reliability; and the latest coating technology for long tool life.

ATA designs, manufactures and distributes burs, with a selection exceeding 1,100 different types of high-quality tungsten-carbide burs. ATA offers bur configurations and specifications to suit every ferrous and nonferrous application, ensuring efficient stock removal and a fine surface finish.

ARNO Werkzeuge USA announced it has reintroduced the H.B. Rouse brand of American-made, carbide cutting tools and inserts. Formerly sold and marketed under the Arno-Rouse name, the company has reintroduced Rouse as a stand-alone product offering under its original brand name: H.B. Rouse.

The new WCK10 ceramic cutting grade from Walter is optimized for roughing gray cast iron at high cutting speeds, with either continuous or interrupted cutting. The inserts deliver improved productivity, process reliability and longer tool life due to their new Si3N4 wear-resistant ceramic cutting material.

Walter has introduced two new insert grades in its Perform Line of turning tools, the WPV10 and WPV20. These versatile, cost-effective inserts are suitable for users whose machines are limited in cutting parameters due to their stability and performance, and who need a versatile insert that can handle different materials, as well as for those who machine small or medium batch sizes.

New from Sumitomo Electric Carbide Inc., AC8000P Series Grades for steel turning features advanced Absotech Platinum CVD Coating for a longer tool life and an overall cost reduction in steel cutting. For exceptional performance, the AC8000P series consists of this patented CVD coating, a new surface layer and a smooth surface treatment from the crystal orientation process.

Seco Tools offers Secomax CS300 ceramic inserts and cutter bodies to boost productivity in milling and turning operations with heavy interrupted cuts on nickel-based heat-resistant superalloys (HRSA). The new cutters increase productivity by up to eight times over standard carbide milling and are ideal for machining a range of components for aerospace and power generation turbine segments, according to the company.

Tungaloy is expanding its insert line for TungSix-Drill, the head-changeable drill, to include grade AH3135. TungSix-Drill is an indexable insert drill that incorporates double-sided, triangular inserts with six effective cutting edges.

To overcome the challenges of chip formation and evacuation when drilling nonferrous metals, Sandvik Coromant has unveiled its CoroDrill 880 CVD diamond-coated insert grades, GCN124 and GCN134. The superhard properties of the diamond coating provide long tool life and combine with innovative chipbreaker and geometry designs to enhance performance when drilling materials such as aluminum.

Seco offers the MP2050 insert grade with an optimized balance of toughness and wear resistance to efficiently machine high-strength, heat-resistant materials. Originally developed specifically for turbine blade machining in the power generation industry segment, the new grade also excels in aerospace applications and offers exceptional performance in milling materials such as austenitic and martensitic stainless steels, as well as titanium.

THINBIT offers CBN- and PCD-tipped inserts. CBN (cubic boron nitride) tipped inserts provide an increased production rate, improved surface finish and dimensional control when used on high-temperature alloys, such as inconel, nickel-base alloys and materials with a hardness of HRC 35 or harder.
