Long a shop floor standard for precision ID and OD measurements, Mahr Federal's Multimar 36 B indicator gage has been enhanced to accept a wider range of contacts and anvils, enabling, for example, measurement of pitch, gear diameters, threads, taper diameters and recesses. It can also accept a Mahr Integrated Wireless Indicator for wireless data transmission.

4D Technology today announced the 4D InSpec Surface Gauge, a handheld, noncontact instrument that measures precision machined surface defects and features with micrometer-level resolution. The 4D InSpec employs 4D's patented technology, which enables rapid measurements that are unaffected by vibration present in most manufacturing environments.

Phase II's PHT-6000 nondestructive, portable, ultrasonic hardness tester is suitable for small, large, flat, round, thick or thin workpieces. It can test soft metals, such as copper and brass, and hard metals while adhering to ASTM A1038-10 guidelines for portable hardness testing using the static ultrasonic contact impedance method.

Aerotech's PRO series industrial linear motor and ball-screw positioning stages are available in new sizes and with new features and significantly improved performance. Johnson Gage offers the JCR runout and concentricity inspection system for verification of cylindrical runout. The JCR can be used stand-alone or with an optical comparator for verification of geometries in cutting tool product.

HEIDENHAIN announces the introduction of the new and improved +/-1um accurate ACANTO 1217 and 1218 length gages. Paired with the proprietary bi-directional serial interface EnDat 2.2, operators can monitor gages being used in production and detect failures before they occur, allowing mangers to plan and maintain optimal production levels and minimize machine down time.
