Sensofar Metrology, Terrassa, Spain, recently introduced the S lynx, a compact, high-resolution, non-contact 3D surface profiler, according to a company news release issued Feb. 10. The new surface profiler features Sensofar's key 3-in-1 technology approach, namely the integration of confocal, interferometry and focus variation techniques into the same sensor head.

The FlyMarker mini, a battery operated hand-held dot peen marking system, weighs 2.7 kg and is designed for durable markings of big and unmovable work pieces directly on-site, according to the German company Markator, which produces industrial marking systems.

The Adcole Corp., Marlborough, Mass., this week rolled out a new programming interface for its Model 1100 and 1200 Crankshaft Gages that reportedly simplifies part programming, sequence building and reporting. Adcole's PIR (Part Inspection & Reporting) Software features a single user-friendly interface allowing users to program a new part to measure in less than 15 minutes, including the crankshaft specification and inspection sequence. This fully integrated utility then creates a summary report, output plot and SPC templates, according to the company.

The Keyence Corporation of America, Itasca, Ill., recently added a new product to its popular IV Series vision sensor family—the IV-H vision sensor—that reportedly increases the stability and functionality of visual inspection, the company announced in a Jan. 29 news release. The new IV-H models boast increased stability and versatility with a brand new toolset.

Said to combine ease of use with expanded functionality, the new BX53M System Microscope from Olympus Scientific Solutions Americas is designed to make it easy for users to quickly and accurately undertake a variety of analytical tasks, the company announced in a Jan. 26 news release. What's more, when combined with new Olympus Stream 2.1 Image Analysis Software, the BX53M System Microscope reportedly simplifies workflow from observation to measurement, analysis and reporting.

Coherent Inc., Santa Clara, Calif., recently enhanced its series of large-area, high-speed PowerMax-Pro laser detectors to enable power measurement of laser beams of up to 375W continuously, 600W for shorter durations, and modulated peak powers as high as 15 kW in intermittent (long-pulse) operation, according to the company. The PowerMax-Pro detectors, introduced in 2014, are based on Coherent's proprietary thin-film sensor technology that combines the broad wavelength sensitivity, dynamic range and laser damage resistance of a thermopile with the response speed of a semiconductor photodiode.

Perceptron Inc., Plymouth, Mich., recently launched a full range of 5-axis coordinate measurement machines (CMMs) complete with the Renishaw® REVO-2 scanning probe and a fully-integrated universal CMM controller and MODUS® metrology software. The company combined the metrology stability of the COORD3 Universal CMM with the latest Renishaw REVO-2 5-axis measuring system, according to Perceptron CMM Product Sales DirectorElliott Mills. This combination, he added, minimizes CMM dynamic error for high-speed probe motion because all of the part feature scanning motion takes place within the head of the REVO-2, which is said to be the only scanning system for CMMs that simultaneously controls the motion of three CMM and two probe head axes. At the same time, the company added, the REVO-2 also collects workpiece data using its range of 3D tactile probes, surface roughness measurement probe and non-contact vision probe.

The new M4 Inline from Dapra Marking Systems, Bloomfield, Conn., is a turnkey inline direct part marking solution for industrial traceability. The system reportedly eliminates the need for additional vision identification/control equipment, making it the ideal solution for efficient, cost-effective inline part marking for everything from automated production lines to custom-engineered systems, according to a Dapra news release issued Jan. 25.n

To help companies meet tolerances and achieve repeatability, Advanced Industrial Measurement Systems (AIMS), a maker of coordinate measuring machines (CMM), recently introduced the Revolution Series HB Shop Floor CMM, the Dayton, Ohio-based company announced in a Jan. 22 news release. Designed and built around Renishaw 5-axis technology, the Revolution HB is said to be the only mobile 5-axis CMM on the market.

Mahr Federal, Providence, R.I., recently introduced an "entry level" surface finish and contour measuring system capable of generating both surface and contour measurements in a single pass, according to a company news release issued Jan. 21. The MarSurf® UD 130, which replaces the MarSurf UD 120, is said to offer improved nanometer range measurements, high measuring and positioning speeds, a biomimetic probe design with better rigidity and higher dynamics, as well as automatic probe arm recognition.
