Norton NORaX N889 belts feature an engineered, high-performance micron-grade aluminum oxide grain structured in a fine 3D pyramid pattern which is especially well suited for lower pressure (0-8 PSI) applications where belt flexibility is needed. The engineered abrasive slowly erodes during grinding, exposing new, sharp abrasive grains resulting in 2-5X longer belt life than conventional polishing belts, as well as higher quality finishes, faster cutting rates and an ability to reduce finishing/ polishing steps.

The improved zirconia alumina and aluminum oxide blending discs also deliver better performance and product life. In addition, the expanded blending disc portfolio provides more connection types, with all of the grain options in the lineup now available in Type S and Type R connections. All the discs are now available with a resin fiber or cloth backing. The resin fiber backing helps reduce the pressure an operator must apply to the disc to maximize the cut rate. It also helps retain the grain on the disc, increasing disc life. The cloth backing offers a more comfortable disc that gives the operator greater control of material removal. The Weiler Abrasives blending disc portfolio also includes a line of aluminum discs that remains unchanged.

Dia-Strip and Dia-Sheet lapping and polishing film incorporates pure virgin diamond powders in their highest concentrated forms. This slows for maximum material strength, durability, and performance. The powders are first expertly graded for uniformity, and then held into place by a thin nickel. With this approach, 90% of the grains are left exposed for cutting, yet are unable to escape the film due to the strength of the bonding agent. This unique construction makes Dia-Sheets and Dia-Strips highly durable, yet also flexible, bendable, and formable.

The AOV orbital sander tool is specially designed for grinding and polishing workpiece surfaces. The pneumatic unit is driven by a vane motor and achieves rotational speeds of 10,000 RPM. The MFT-R is the ideal solution for manufacturers who require a particularly flexible and robust polishing spindle for polishing and brushing of workpieces with axial compliance. The PCFC ensures that a consistent compliance force is acting in any position, due to the position sensor.

The color-coding helps stop cross-contamination in operations working with both carbon and stainless steel by making it easy to identify the correct wire brush. Ceramic cartridge rolls feature self-sharpening grains which continually produce fresh cutting points which easily cut through stainless and alloys. Self-sharpening grains also reduce friction and prolong cut rates. Additional grinding aid further reduces heat for extended wear and reduced downtime. Multiple layers wear away to expose fresh abrasive material, further extending service life.

Otec machines allow the quality of carbide tools to be improved considerably. The special procedure enables the chip grooves of carbide cutters and drill bits, for example, to be polished to a high gloss.

PFERD diamond-coated wire brushes are ideal for removing localized heavy mill scale prior to welding in hard-to-reach areas. They are also suitable for other heavy-duty surface conditioning applications, as well as for blending machining marks and generating distinct scratch patterns.
