In an age of smartphones, laptops and tablets, ordering tools online easily and conveniently is not witchcraft. High-performance apps have made the process simple enough for anyone to use. However, you have to go into greater detail to separate the wheat from the chaff, for example, identifying the right tool for a particular cutting application by using the cutting data calculator.

For manufacturing of tubing products, or those who manufacture products with tubing components, Severance Tool has developed a line of tube end finishing rotary tools which can deburr, form or chamfer as required by application needs.

As one of the newest members of Mazak's additive machine family, the VARIAXIS j-600AM (additive manufacturing) vertical machining center features a wire arc-type metal deposition system. The technology reportedly takes the additive process to whole new levels in terms of speed, allowing shops to quickly and easily grow part features then employ the machine's advanced 5-axis multisurface subtractive capabilities to produce parts complete in single setups.

Ransohoff has introduced its LeanDrum Eco Washer; platform provides a low-cost, energy-efficient, reliable solution for high-volume cleaning applications.

The compact 5-axis profilers from SNK America are designed to stand up to the rigorous demands of medium-sized to large aircraft components machining. Choose the model that meets your specific requirements: HPS B series for high-speed aluminum machining or the HPS A series for titanium and other hard metal machining.

When machining requires high-speed performance, Troyke's direct-drive spindles deliver precision and control. Direct motor-to-spindle connection eliminates any chance for gear error, allowing for a high degree of accuracy.

HEIDENHAIN introduces a new series of functionally safe hollow-shaft connection encoders to the manufacturing equipment industry. Called the ECN/EQN/ERN 400 series, these new rotary encoders are especially useful in applications where quick machine shut-off is required in dangerous situations.

A new camshaft gage that features two independent opposed measuring heads for measuring key parameters including cam lobe chatter and straightness is being introduced by Adcole Corp. The Adcole 1302 dual-head camshaft gage features two independent opposed Heidenhain side wall measuring heads with ±10 mm travel for measuring sliding cam components with submicron accuracy.

Kardex Remstar is launching an entirely new product class of storage systems into the market. The intralogistics supplier is adding the Vertical Buffer Module product family to its portfolio, starting with the Kardex Remstar LR 35 storage and retrieval unit. The new design is capable of fast delivery when picking small parts.

Milltronics says it continually refines and reinvents its CNC machines and controls to make them perfect extensions of the hands of the skilled U.S. machinist. This March Milltronics rings in the New Year with the launch of its reinvented VM series of vertical machine centers.

By connecting the motor directly to the spindle on the KF5600 vertical machining center from Hyundai-WIA Machine, acc/dec time was shortened. A wide range of machining can be done with spindle speed of up to 12,000 rpm.

Schaffner introduces the FN510 dv/dt filter, which eliminates premature motor damage caused by high dv/dt, over-voltages on motor cables, motor overheating and more, to prolong service life motors in high precision environments.
