Waterjet cutting works as simply as it is effective: the cutting head directs a fine jet of water at high pressure of up to 6,000 bar, a jet diameter of 0.38 to 1.02 millimeters. In this stress-free cutting process, the material particles close to the surface are cut off without any heat being introduced into the material. This process is an optimal solution for temperature-sensitive and thick materials with complex geometries.

PunchDrill features patent-pending geometry with an innovative chip breaker which produces short chips to control machining forces. The height of the frame is based on the size of the part. The components present in the set permit a maximum set-up height of 300 millimetres. With add-on sets, the frame height can be extended in increments of 100 or 200. The part to be measured is held within the frame by hinged brackets.

The Acoustic Performance Measurement (APM) system is capable of monitoring the parameters of ultrasonic frequency and power in-line at each processing station and for each batch. Special directional microphones are used for this, which are placed in a fixed position at the edge of each tank, and directed towards the centre of the bath surface. Thus, measurements are carried out without any movement or contact, ensuring reproducible results and enabling them to be precisely assigned to the batch concerned. A transparent window on the PITreader card enables users to still read the LED status indicator when the card is held up to it.
