Hypertherm is shipping its PowerDredge waterjet abrasive-removal unit to customers around the world. The unit increases waterjet productivity and profitability by automating costly abrasive clean-outs. Instead of relying on manual labor to shovel or suck out used abrasive, the PowerDredge automatically collects and deposits abrasive into a large bag for quick recycling or disposal.
“The competitive and price sensitive nature of the fabrication market makes a product like this critical for manufacturers interested in increasing their profit,” said John Caron, product marketing manager for Hypertherm waterjet products. “By automating the abrasive removal process, companies are able to improve their operating costs by reducing system down time and labor.”
The PowerDredge is designed for use with both new and existing Hypertherm HyPrecision and competitive waterjet products, and offered in different configurations to match differing business needs. No additional water, electricity, high-pressure supply lines or manpower is required.
