To help promote the 50th anniversary of the EMO trade show, which takes place Sept. 22–26 in Hanover, Germany, show organizer VDW (German Machine Tool Builders' Association) held the EMO 2025 Preview July 10–11 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Trade journalists from 28 countries attended the event, which featured 90-second "elevator pitches" from 26 EMO exhibitors, an interview with VDW Executive Director Dr. Markus Heering, a panel discussion about artificial intelligence, and a presentation by Jayson Myers, CEO of NGen (Next Generation Manufacturing Canada) in Hamilton, Ontario, about Alliance Country Canada @EMO2025 during the first day.

Hexagon Live Global 2025 Held in Las Vegas
The Hexagon Live Global conference returned to Las Vegas June 16–19, this time at the Fontainebleau resort and casino. This year marks a quarter century of measurement technology development for Stockholm, Sweden-headquartered Hexagon AB, following its 2001 acquisition of metrology tool manufacturer Brown & Sharpe, said Ola Rollén, chairman of the board.

Mazak Hosts Technology and Education Event
After a hiatus as a result of the pandemic, Florence, Kentucky-headquartered Mazak Corp. hosted the Discover More With Mazak Midwest Technology and Education Event May 6-8 at the machine tool builder's Midwest Technology Center in Schaumburg, Illinois. In addition to being able to meet with Mazak partner companies in the display and demonstration area, Mazak presented a variety of machining equipment, including Integrex multitask machines, Variaxis 5-axis machines for producing complex 3D curved surfaces, Syncrex Swiss-style turning machines, the HCN-4000 NEO horizontal machining center with the Palletech modular automation system, and the VC-500A/5X 5-axis hybrid machine that combines additive and subtractive operations.

BIG Daishowa Hosts Breakfast & Learn Event
After a hiatus since 2019, BIG Daishowa Inc. in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, held its annual Breakfast & Learn event on April 30 and May 1. After serving guests a breakfast that included fresh fruit, scrambled eggs with toppings, French toast, Danishes, sausage, crisp Virginia bacon, and coffee, President and COO Jack Burley gave a presentation on "Why you need high-value tooling for high-value machines."
