Each month, the ANCA Academy show will cover a different technical topic—from set up through to grinding —to help ANCA machine users understand new applications and features. The Okuma MA-600HIII features an enhanced coolant management system, ball screw cooling for the X, Y and Z axes, an upgraded workspace design to prevent chip accumulation, and improved chip evacuation functionality. This level of innovation maximizes uptime and allows for long periods of continuous machine operation.

The FullShop Automated Coolant Management System from 168 Manufacturing automatically manages coolant levels and concentrations by sensing and pumping properly mixed coolant to as many as 120 CNC machines. Meanwhile, the LNS Venturi Pump continuously removes and filters coolant from the chip hopper and returns it to the machine sump, thus eliminating cross contamination from central recycling.

The new Multiaxis Unified toolpath allows you to select multiple pieces of input geometry to generate the toolpath pattern. Using those geometry choices, the toolpath picks the best algorithm to calculate the path. This single toolpath gives you access to all the surface-based toolpaths, as well as the geodesic toolpath options, in a single interface.

Pin Vises have a small footprint, allowing room for more parts on a table resulting in increased throughput. Pin Vises are also lightweight making them ideal for automated applications where weight is a consideration.

The TS 760 probe offers extremely high accuracy (±1 µm) and homogeneous switching behavior over 360°. And for 3-D measurement, the feed rate/probing speed of 1 m/min is four times faster than other commercially available products that offer the same impressive repeatability of (2σ ≤ 0.25 µm).

Jasper Engines & Transmissions sought to increase productivity to keep up with production requirements while reducing scrap, the Jasper, Indiana, company turned to the Mazak Corp. for a solution using a horizontal machining center with a two-pallet changer and an automatic tool changer that can accommodate long boring tools.

Production Manager seamlessly integrates with Hypertherm's EDGE Connect CNC, to automatically capture machine data without the need for operator intervention. In addition, it displays real-time production data so team members across an organization can track the status of job orders, the production schedule, and pending inventory requirements.

One of the many new features often requested and now available in StateMonitor V1.4.0 is the ability to monitor tools within a connected machine.

As an external loader, STUDER roboLoad measures only 59.06" (1.50 m) wide: half the width of the machine itself. This saves valuable shop floor space, and yet the system offers plenty of room for workpieces manually loaded on six trays – each measuring 42.52" x 12.6" (1080 mm x 320 mm) – within a comparatively small work area.
